Welcome to Dreamu. This Privacy Policy explains how the developer of Dreamu ("Developer," "we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards your information when you use our mobile application Dreamu (the "App").

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not use the App.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

• Dream Journal Entries: The content of your dreams, including text descriptions, moods, tags, and any notes you add. This data is stored locally on your device by default.
• Voice Recordings: If you use voice input to record dreams, the audio is processed on-device and converted to text. We do not store audio recordings.
• Profile Information: Your display name and dream journaling goals (optional).

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Device Identifier: A unique identifier derived from your iCloud account (CloudKit Record ID) used to manage your subscription and usage quotas. This identifier is anonymized and cannot be used to identify you personally.
• Usage Data: We track the number of AI analysis requests, image generations, and chat interactions to enforce fair usage limits. We do not track the content of your dreams.
• Subscription Information: Your subscription status (free or Pro), subscription period, and transaction identifiers for payment processing.

2.3 Information NOT Collected

• We do NOT collect your name, email address, or phone number
• We do NOT collect your location data
• We do NOT collect contacts or photos
• We do NOT sell your data to third parties
• We do NOT use your dream content for advertising

4. AI Features and Data Processing

Dreamu offers AI-powered features including dream analysis, interpretation, and image generation. Here's how your data is handled based on your subscription:

4.1 Free Users

Free users primarily use on-device AI (Apple Intelligence) when available on their device. In this case, your dream content is processed locally and never leaves your device. If on-device AI is not available, limited cloud AI may be used within free tier quotas.

4.2 Pro Users

Pro subscribers use cloud AI services for enhanced analysis quality. Your dream content is sent to third-party AI providers for processing. If cloud quota is exhausted or unavailable, the App may fall back to on-device AI (Apple Intelligence) if supported by your device.

4.3 Cloud AI Services

When cloud AI is used, we utilize the following third-party services:

• OpenAI: For dream analysis and chat features. Dream content is sent to OpenAI's API for processing. OpenAI's privacy policy applies to this processing.
• Fal.ai: For dream image generation. Only the image prompt (not your full dream) is sent.

We do not store your dream content on our servers. It is transmitted directly to the AI provider and discarded after processing.

4.4 On-Device AI (Apple Intelligence)

When on-device AI is used (either as primary for free users or fallback for Pro users), dream analysis is performed locally using Apple Intelligence. Your dream content never leaves your device in this case. On-device AI requires a compatible device with Apple Intelligence support.

5. iCloud Sync (Pro Feature)

Pro subscribers can optionally enable iCloud sync to access their dream journal across devices. When enabled:

• Your dream data is stored in your private iCloud container
• Only you can access this data through devices signed into your Apple ID
• We cannot access your iCloud-synced data
• Apple's iCloud terms and privacy policy apply

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data:

• All data transmission uses HTTPS/TLS encryption
• Industry-standard security measures protect our backend infrastructure
• We do not store passwords (authentication is via Apple/iCloud)

7. Data Retention

• Dream Entries: Stored on your device until you delete them. We do not retain copies.
• Usage Data: Retained for the duration of your subscription period, then archived.
• Subscription Data: Retained as long as you have an account, plus any period required by law.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: View all your dream data within the App
• Delete: Delete individual dreams or all data from the App
• Export: Your data is stored locally and can be backed up via iOS
• Opt-out: Disable iCloud sync at any time in Settings
• Request Deletion: Contact us to request deletion of server-side data

9. Children's Privacy

Dreamu is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

10. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

• Apple (App Store, iCloud, StoreKit): For app distribution, payments, and optional sync
• OpenAI: For AI-powered dream analysis
• Fal.ai: For AI image generation
• Cloudflare: For backend infrastructure and security

Each service has its own privacy policy that governs their use of data.

11. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. Our servers are located in Cloudflare's global network. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for any international transfers.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the App and updating the "Last Updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
