Welcome to NoteSpend. This Privacy Policy explains how the developer of NoteSpend ("Developer," "we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards your information when you use our mobile application NoteSpend (the "App").

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not use the App.

            TL;DR: Your financial data belongs to you. NoteSpend stores your transactions locally on
            your device. When you use AI features, your text is processed anonymously and discarded immediately. We do
            not sell your data.
        

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Automatically Collected Data

Usage Statistics: We track anonymous usage counts (e.g., "50 AI requests made") to enforce subscription quotas and preventing abuse.
Device Identifier: We use an anonymous identifier derived from your iCloud account (CloudKit User Record ID) to sync your Pro subscription status across devices.
Crash Reports: Anonymous crash logs provided by Apple to help us fix bugs.

2.2 Data Processed via AI

When you type a note (e.g., "Sushi $40"), the text is sent to our secure backend.

Processor: We use Google Gemini (via Google Cloud/Cloudflare) to parse your text.
Retention: Your text is processed in memory and discarded immediately after the response is generated. We do not use your financial data to train AI models.

3. Where Your Data Lives

Financial Data: Your journals, transactions, and budgets are stored locally on your device.
iCloud Sync (Pro): If you are a Pro subscriber, your data syncs via Apple's CloudKit. This data is encrypted by Apple and accessible only by you. We cannot see it.

4. How We Use Information

To provide the Service (parsing your notes into transactions).
To manage your subscription status (Free vs. Pro).
To enforce fair usage limits preventing API abuse.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. Data is only shared with service providers necessary to run the app:

Google (Gemini): For AI text parsing.
Cloudflare: For secure API infrastructure and rate limiting.
Apple: For payment processing and iCloud sync.

6. Your Rights

Since your data is stored locally or in your private iCloud:

Access/Export: You can view all your data within the app.
Delete: Deleting the app/data from your device enables you to remove your local data. You can manage iCloud data via your Apple ID settings.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the App and updating the "Last Updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
